Stung By A "Lazy-Cyber Bee"

It’s been quite a while since I have placed my hands on my keyboard...

If I was an octopus I would have had time for my cyberspace life but all my hands has been filled by work, education and day-to-day chores at home.
I don’t mean to be naive but the time I have spend “offline” was worth the sacrifice.  This is just a glimpse on my blog, there’s still exams yet to come, and on the same breath Macufe 2013 followed by Mahungra to disrupt my preparation for the exam lol [I know I’m not the only one enduring this sharp guilt]. The more one has to focus on important things the more the entertainment space erupts.

All these needs a technique called “Time Management”; a simple technique which does not even need any qualification to exert and explore, yet plays a pivotal role in managing ones time.  It is really hard to depend on the mind because as humans we tend to forget and in most cases, we forget quite a number of important tasks to undertake.

It is time to do things the old way, back to “To do list” placed on the refrigerator.  Nothing beats the old way! Yes we do have the advantage of the latest technology to make use of like reminders on our mobile and smartphones but I must say we are not consistent enough.  The twitter TL (timeline) is blazing hot with trending topics, facebook is raging with juicy status updates, comments and new friend requests, a new reminder suddenly appears we don’t even read what it says but instantly dismiss it to get to the new sizzling hot gossips and discussions, while, on the other hand, missing a very important task to do; a meeting to attend to, or even to wish your friend, colleague, or family a birthday wish.  It is not bad to wish them a belated birthday but hard to do so on a scheduled meeting or on what you had to study.

All these comes down to “I’m also a human, I forget or make mistakes”.  These doesn’t have to be deliberate though,  a sotho proverb says “moiketsi ha a llelwe” [he who rejects advice deserves no sympathy]. Wake up and push yourselves people, “ha ho kgomu ya boroko” [no one will pay you for sleeping]. I hope this is an eye opener to those who procrastinate and to those (including myself) who always get stung by a lazy cyber-bee.

If you can’t stick to your reminders stick them on your refrigerator
Aloha!
